Excerpt from a blogger:
There is something called common knowledge that we all can agree upon. But we need to consider a few things: how someone expresses them him or herself or how someone assembles the compilation of those “common” ideas is key, and these things do not have to be novel or entirely original. In copyright circles this is called “compilation copyright”. If this Woman had simply appeared out of the woodwork, without any documentation, or without a preexisting book “already published”, then we might have pause. But this is not the case. “Compilation meaning the unique way someone presents the ideas, as generic as they may be!
This is what I believe has been done to me. This is why I have filed the complaint against Elisabeth Hasselbeck. She had access to my book. I mailed it to her knowing she had Celiac Disease to help her. There are way too many similarities to be a coincidence. I tried to contact her to no avail.
I believe an injustice has been done to me. I am a David and have no means to fight these Goliaths on my own. I need to ask for help or she will get away with this. I think this is bigger than me. I think it is about all of the Davids in the world as well as the working poor who have been in similar situations. If I let her get away with this, it will become easier for Goliath to take advantage of the next David who may not be as strong to fight this battle. This is about principle. The spirit of my book was written in the spirit of helping people. She has tarnished this and for that, she needs to be held accountable. Anyone wishing to donate to the Hassett Legal Fund, I would be very thankful, because I need funding even to proceed with the case on my own. Something like this could happen to anyone, so I am.
Much Thanks
Sue Hassett
